Hi, I’m Laurel (she/her), and I am the person behind Northwest Paws Dog Training. I am so glad you are here! I can’t wait to work with you and your dog – and I don’t even know you yet!

A little about me.

I didn’t grow up with animals, but when my husband and I got our first dog back in 2008, I realized I was hooked. Turns out I love being a pet guardian… so much that I’ve been cut off from getting any more! Apparently 3 dogs, 3 cats, and 2 birds are enough?!

I don’t just love animals. I also love training, because animal training is a science, an art, and a passion. Every single person who needs it should have access to tools and resources to understand and live with their animals. Accessible, fun, humane training is not just for a select few, it is for you. I have experience working in the shelter environment and the home environment with a huge variety of dogs, which means I’m ready to help, no matter what your dog throws at me!

Let me help you learn how to understand why your dog does the things she does.

I promise, as much as it might seem like it, your pup is not trying to be a jerk. Dogs do what works for them. It’s my job to help you figure out how to make things work for you AND your dog.
